A 1930 Chris-Craft with Swedish Royal-Era Elegance and Nearly a Century of Provenance.

A Rare Piece of Chris-Craft History.

Built in 1930 by Chris-Craft, this remarkable classic runabout carries nearly a century of history, craftsmanship and documented ownership.

Its first owner was J.P. Åhlén, the Swedish businessman and founder of Åhléns, who acquired the boat new in 1930. Since then, the boat has passed through a carefully documented line of Swedish owners before being acquired by the current owner in 1980. For more than four decades, it has remained in the same hands on Lake Vänern, Sweden.

At the heart of the boat is its extraordinary Chris-Craft V8 A-120 engine, a 13.5-litre unit built in 1930 by Chris Smith & Sons — the company that became synonymous with the Chris-Craft name. The boat’s original engine has been preserved and is included with the sale. A fully renovated sister engine, sourced from the United States, is currently installed and gives the boat an impressive top speed of approximately 42 knots.

The current owner has carried out an extensive, award-winning restoration over more than 25 years, with exceptional attention to originality, detail and historical integrity. The result is a rare and highly collectible wooden Chris-Craft with both performance and provenance.

The boat comes with extensive documentation covering acquired parts, restoration work, service history and ownership records — making it not only a beautiful classic, but also a well-documented piece of marine history.
